Challenges I Can Help You Overcome
If your mind won’t slow down, you struggle to stay focused, or everyday life just feels overwhelming, you’re not alone. You might feel stuck, mentally exhausted, or frustrated that things that seem simple feel harder than they should. This is exactly the kind of work I help with. I work with adults and teens dealing with anxiety, ADHD, and feeling overwhelmed.
Anxiety & Overthinking – When your thoughts won’t shut off and it’s hard to relax
Feeling Overwhelmed – When everything feels like too much, even small things
Burnout & Exhaustion – Feeling drained, unmotivated, or mentally checked out
ADHD & Focus Challenges – Difficulty starting tasks, staying on track, or feeling overwhelmed by where to begin
Relationships & Communication – Feeling disconnected, frustrated, or misunderstood
Sleep & Mental Rest – Trouble shutting your mind off at night
Self-Esteem & Self-Doubt – Being hard on yourself or never feeling “good enough”
A Holistic, Individualized Approach
Many of the people I work with feel capable but overwhelmed, especially those navigating ADHD, anxiety, or both.
My approach is practical, supportive, and focused on helping you actually feel better, not just talk about things.
I use evidence-based approaches like CBT and ACT, along with mindfulness, to help you understand what’s going on and build tools that make everyday life feel more manageable.
We’ll work at your pace, focusing on what’s most important to you, so you can feel more in control and less overwhelmed.
Dane Nielsen, MA, LMHC, LPC, CADC
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon and Pennsylvania. I also hold a certification in alcohol and drug counseling in Oregon. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin’s University and have worked in a variety of settings, including university counseling centers, outpatient clinics, residential programs, and private practice. Through this work, I’ve supported people navigating anxiety, ADHD, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.
My approach is practical, supportive, and focused on helping you actually feel better—not just talk about things. In addition to traditional therapy methods like CBT and ACT, I incorporate mindfulness and body awareness to help you build tools that work in real life. My background as a martial arts instructor has also shaped how I work. It’s a more mindful, body-based approach that emphasizes balance, adaptability, and emotional regulation. All which help build skills that carry over into everyday life.
My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and able to move forward with more clarity and confidence.
Investment & Insurance
I offer private-pay therapy, which allows for more personalized, flexible, and confidential care.
This means your treatment is focused entirely on your needs—not limited by insurance requirements—and your information stays private.
While I don’t bill insurance directly, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Many plans offer out-of-network benefits.
I also accept HSA/FSA cards.
I’m happy to walk you through how this works and answer any questions during a consultation.
Consultation
Finding the right therapist matters, and it’s important that it feels like a good fit.
I offer a brief phone consultation where you can ask questions, get a feel for my approach, and see if working together feels right.
If you’d like to connect, fill out the form below and I’ll reach out on my next workday. I typically respond within one business day.
I look forward to connecting with you.
